The World Clock

A unique gift

The special gift Gübelin made to the city of Lucerne in 1960, located in the transit area of the Lucerne train station, is one of the many reminders of this commitment. The world clock which is embedded into a mosaic by artist Hans Blättler, specially manufactured for this purpose, still shows passengers the exact time of the biggest metropolises and reminds of Gübelin’s strong bond with art and culture.

The Gübelin Lucerne

Symphony Ball

The House of Gübelin and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester have joined forces to establish the illustrious Lucerne Symphony Ball. Built on shared values, this collaboration embodies the spirit of tradition, innovation, artistry and precision that defines both the Swiss family business and Switzerland’s oldest symphony orchestra. Over the years, this glamorous event has become a highlight of the social calendar, drawing distinguished guests from culture, business and politics. The dazzling event presents an exquisite fusion of music, gourmet cuisine and a festive atmosphere.

Artistic approach to

Jewellery creation

As renowned jeweller, the House of Gübelin always placed special emphasis on the artistic approach in the creation process of a jewel. Employing extremely creative minds, whose inspiration often came from current art themes, nature and the passion for the jeweller’s venerable craft, became evident. Their source of inspiration reflected into the work and transmitted on the Swiss House’s products.

Among the famous creatives, who designed jewellery for the House of Gübelin over the course of the firm’s history, were creative talents like Martha Widmer, Emilio Häfliger, Margaretha Dubach, Jean-Claude Schweizer, Kurt Flory and many more.

Collaborations with

Artists

Gübelin has expressed its dedication to the field in many ways, one of the most important, by collaborating with artists on different projects over the years.

Today, Gübelin’s jewellery designers find inspiration in the inner world of coloured gemstones to create these mesmerizing pieces of fine jewellery. The House of Gübelin shares this source of inspiration on a regular basis with collaborating artists.

Official Partner of

artgenève

The House of Gübelin carefully fosters its deep relationship with art and culture. As an official partner of the artgenève, Gübelin Jewellery presents a cooperation with the artist Athene Galiciadis at the art fair in 2019. In 2022, Gübelin proudly presented the new masterpiece Flaming Grace together with works of art by artist Thomas Liu Le Lann.

Engadin Art Talks

Since 2016 Gübelin is main partner of the Engadin Art Talks (E.A.T.). The House of Gübelin supports the idea of an interactive and informal dialogue between various international participants in the world of art and architecture.

For Raphael Gübelin, the sixth-generation President of the family-owned firm, this dedication to culture is the logical extension of the firm’s “Deeply Inspired” philosophy. “Because”, says Gübelin, “our jewellery aesthetic, inspired by the inner beauty of gems, is also based on an interactive dialogue between the people who create these pieces of jewellery.”

Luzerner

Sinfonieorchester

An example of the broadness of Gübelin’s art and culture commitment, lies in the collaboration with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester (LSO). As main partner, Gübelin supports amongst others the “Beethoven project” in 2017, a play and recording of Beethoven’s five piano concerts with talented Swiss pianist Oliver Schnyder.
